Adding an AI chatbot to your business website (without the hype)
· CodeVerge Solutions
An AI chatbot is useful when your team answers the same ten questions every day: hours, prices, service areas, “do you deliver to Vijay Nagar?”. It is a waste of money if you do not yet have a website that loads, a WhatsApp number that is answered, or a page that says what you do.
What a good bot does
- Answers only from documents you approved (FAQs, price lists, policies).
- Shows the source of each answer.
- Hands over to a human, collecting a name and WhatsApp number, when it is not sure.
- Costs a few hundred rupees a month in API usage for a typical small business, with a hard spending cap.
What it must not do
Invent prices, promise delivery dates, or store customer chats on a tool that trains on your data. If a vendor cannot show you the documents the bot is reading, do not install it.
A practical setup
- Write or export a one-page FAQ.
- Put the bot on your site with a single script tag.
- Review the first week’s unanswered questions and add them to the FAQ.
- Connect WhatsApp so evening leads still get a reply from you in the morning.
We built a working version of this, AskDesk AI, that you can click through. To put one on your own site, get in touch.
