A D2C store with Indian GST and international checkout
An online namkeen store that handles GST invoices, UPI payments and USD checkout for overseas buyers, plus a simple order dashboard for the shop owner.
Demo project: the business shown is fictional. We built this working product to show how we would solve this problem for a real client in this industry.
The problem
Local food brands taking orders on WhatsApp lose sales after 9 pm, cannot issue proper GST invoices, and have no way to accept a card from a cousin in the US. Marketplace fees eat the already-thin namkeen margins.
What we built
- A product catalogue with categories, stock and GST-inclusive prices that look like a real MRP label.
- Checkout that re-prices every order on the server from the database, so a modified cart cannot underpay.
- Tax that follows Indian rules: CGST+SGST inside Madhya Pradesh, IGST for other states, and zero-rated export under LUT for international addresses (charged in USD via Stripe).
- Razorpay Checkout for UPI, cards and netbanking. When payment keys are not set, the demo still completes so visitors can walk through the full flow.
- A GST (or export) invoice PDF the customer can download the moment the order is paid.
- An admin page to mark orders packed, shipped or delivered.
Try it
Open the live store, add a few packs to the cart and check out. Use any test card, or complete the demo-paid path. Then download the invoice.
Taking it to production
Shiprocket or Delhivery for last-mile, automated restock alerts, and a customer account with order history. A typical store like this takes 3 to 4 weeks.
